On Wednesday 27 March, the Commission announced that it had approved an amendment to an Italian State aid scheme, initially approved on 22 April 2022, aimed at supporting businesses in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region active in the agriculture, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture sectors, affected by the difficulties encountered on the markets as a result of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine. The financial sector is excluded from this measure, which applies throughout the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Italy).
The amendment to the scheme was approved under the Temporary Framework for State Aid.
This amendment increases the budget for the initially approved scheme by €150 million, bringing the total budget for the measure to €250 million.
In this context, aid reaches businesses in the form of direct subsidies and subsidised loans with a total nominal value not exceeding €400,000 per business or €35,000 per business active in the primary sector of agricultural products, fisheries and aquaculture.
