23/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – A new European citizens’ panel on energy efficiency got underway, on Friday 23 February in Brussels, with 150 citizens drawn at random from the 27 Member States. They will discuss the benefits and challenges of improving energy efficiency and what action households, businesses and communities should take. Over 3 weekends, they will formulate recommendations that will influence EU policies, focusing on the “energy efficiency first” principle. A new online citizen engagement platform will enable all EU citizens to take part in the debates and plenary sessions, which will be broadcast online on 23 and 25 February. (PLD)
