Valdis Dombrovskis criticises absence of agreement on steel and aluminium and on critical minerals with Washington

EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis extolled the benefits of a solid transatlantic relationship in a speech to the US Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday 30 January, but also expressed regret at the lack of agreement on the sensitive issue of steel and aluminium tariffs. 

“Throughout the negotiations, we did not see a credible path from the US towards the elimination of the 232 tariff rate quotas [...] This is a missed opportunity for businesses on both sides of the Atlantic”, he...
