23/01/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 23 January, the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on the proposal for a regulation on the digital labelling of fertiliser products. The agreement encourages wider use of digital labelling of fertilisers while providing for measures to retain physical labels where necessary. The agreement also specifies that the digital labels will be available for a period of ten years from the time the product is placed on the market. Farmers and other consumers of fertiliser products sold in packaging will continue to benefit from digital and physical labels for the most important information (see EUROPE 13295/15).
