MEPs give green light to back provisional agreements on gas package regulation and directive

On Tuesday 23 January, members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) approved the interinstitutional agreements reached on the gas package (one regulation, one directive) (see EUROPE B13310A5, B13302A7), which aims to decarbonise the gas market and create a hydrogen market in the EU.

They voted in favour of the regulation contained in the report by Jerzy Buzek (EPP, Polish) by 37 votes to 6 with 2 abstentions. They then approved the directive...
