19/01/24 (Agence Europe) – The 20th Music Moves Europe Awards, held on 18 January at the Eurosonic festival in Groningen (Netherlands), honoured five promising European bands. Yunè Pinku (Ireland), Bulgarian Cartrader (Bulgaria), Giift (Denmark), freekind (Slovenia) and Ralphie Choo (Spain) were chosen from 15 nominees. Zaho de Sagazan (France) won the Grand Jury Award and the Public Choice Award. These awards, supported by the EU as part of Music Moves Europe, aim to promote emerging talent and European cultural diversity. In a press release, the European Commissioner for Culture and Youth, Iliana Ivanova, stressed the importance of these awards in recognising the cultural and economic contributions of the music industry. Funded by the Europe Creative programme, the prizes include financial rewards. (NP)
