Advocate General proposes that EU Court of Justice uphold fine imposed on Google for abuse of dominant position on markets for online search services

In an opinion delivered on Thursday 11 January, in Case C-48/22 P, Advocate General Juliane Kokott proposes that the Court dismiss in its entirety the appeal brought by Google LLC (USA) and its holding company Alphabet, Inc. against the European Commission and to confirm the fine imposed by the Commission.

The two companies were challenging a decision by the European Commission, which had found that Google was abusing its dominant position on the market for general Internet search services...
