EU renews sanctions against Malian military personnel for another year

11/12/23 (Agence Europe) – The EU sanctions currently in force against military personnel for obstructing the political transition in Mali have been extended for a further year, until 14 December 2024 (see EUROPE B12884A24). This was the decision taken by the EU Council on Monday 11 December. One soldier has been removed from the list. The other four will continue to be subject to an asset freeze and an EU visa ban.
