European Commission refuses Member States’ request to extend crisis measures for fishermen

On Sunday 10 December, the European Commission refused a request from some fifteen fisheries ministers to extend the period of eligibility for expenditure on financial compensation to fishermen in connection with the war in Ukraine until the end of 2024 (see EUROPE B12919A10).
