Presented at the sixth European Education Summit on Thursday 30 November, the Erasmus+ 2022 annual report details that 26,000 projects were supported, benefiting more than 73,000 organisations and offering mobility opportunities to more than 1.2 million individuals, mainly students and teachers.
With a budget of €26.2 billion for 2021-2027, the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport has doubled its funding compared to the previous period.
2022 saw a budget of over €4 billion, which is 38% more than the previous year.
The programme has enabled 134,000 people with fewer opportunities - including people with disabilities and migrants - to take part in mobility activities.
Erasmus+ has also furthered the green transition with 1,300 projects worth €592 million, and supported the digital transformation with over 1,650 projects and €744 million. It has played a key role in strengthening European identity, with €340 million funding 1,200 democratic projects in 2022.
A full evaluation is scheduled for the end of 2024. The call for projects for 2024 was launched on 28 November (see EUROPE 13302/36).
