Military mobility, cyber capabilities and implementation of ‘Strategic Compass’, priorities of Belgian Presidency of EU Council

At the European Defence Agency’s annual conference, Belgian Defence Minister Ludivine Dedonder outlined her country’s defence priorities for its Presidency of the EU Council, which begins on 1 January.

“The EU has a duty to assume a global strategic role, not just political or economic, but also military”, she explained, stressing the importance of strengthening defence capabilities.
