The European Commissioner for Interinstitutional Relations and Forward Studies, Maros Šefčovič, announced, on Tuesday 21 November on the social network X (formerly Twitter), that the European Commission had adopted a joint declaration with Switzerland after 18 months of exploratory negotiations. “This agreement will frame the negotiation of a broad package between the EU and Switzerland. This is a welcome and important step in our bilateral relations”, he added.
