Study identifies risks to financial stability and work of central banks in euro area from nature degradation

The European Central Bank (ECB) published, on Wednesday 8 November, a study on the risks and implications for financial stability from the degradation of natural ecosystems and loss of biodiversity in the euro area. 

The authors of the study - Simone Boldrini, Andrej Ceglar, Chiara Lelli, Laura Parisi and Irene Heemskerk - assessed the dependence of euro area non-financial corporations (NFCs) and banks on various ecosystem services (pollination, carbon sequestration, flood prevention,...
