08/11/23 (Agence Europe) – The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) and CDP, the organisation that publishes data on the environmental impact of the largest companies, announced on Wednesday 8 November that they would be working together to speed up the implementation of sustainable reporting standards (‘ESRS’) (see EUROPE 13274/20). Under this agreement, the CDP will begin to align its global information platform with the ESRS and ensure that decision-makers, such as global investors, can begin to access this data. Almost 90% of European companies with a large market capitalisation publish their environmental impact through the CDP. “[The implementation of the ESRS] through the CSRD will help ensure a level playing field for and support the companies already investing in their transition”, commented Maxfield Weiss, Executive Director of CDP Europe, in a press release.
