08/11/23 (Agence Europe) – In its latest monthly bulletin, the European Commission’s climate change observatory, Copernicus Climate Change, announced that October 2023 had set a record as the warmest October on record worldwide, with an average temperature of 15.30°C, 0.85°C above the 1991-2020 average. This fifth consecutive monthly record indicates an alarming trend, with October 2023 being the second hottest month on record after September 2023. Over the current year, the global temperature is already 1.43°C above the pre-industrial average, and 0.10°C above the record set in 2016. In Europe, October 2023 will be 1.30°C above normal.
