EU will always be on side of human rights, says Ursula von der Leyen

Singled out for criticism by nearly 850 European officials for her pro-Israeli bias expressed after the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel (see EUROPE B13276A19), the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, was keen on Saturday 21 October to reassure Commission staff of the efforts she is undertaking “around the clock to alleviate the suffering of ALL those affected by the indiscriminate terror attacks”, in particular by tripling humanitarian aid to Gaza.
