European Commission authorises Czech scheme worth €742 million to support greening of forest management

On Monday 23 October, the European Commission announced that it had authorised a Czech aid scheme worth around €742 million (CZK17.4 billion) to support efforts to improve the sustainable management of forests and their resilience to climate change.

This aid scheme, which will run until 31 December 2028, will help landowners to implement operations designed to prevent soil erosion in deforested stands, preserve the composition and structure of forest soils and enhance the protection...
