12/10/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Business and Nature Summit Charter for a nature-positive economy was launched on Thursday 12 October at an event organised by the European Commission in Milan. It sets out 10 principles to guide collective and transformative action by businesses to halt and reverse the loss of biodiversity by 2030. These principles include corporate and financial responsibility, value chain engagement, transparency, reporting and accountability. By signing the charter, companies recognise the need to combat biodiversity loss and demonstrate their willingness to take action to begin implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (see EUROPE 13087/3). Signing up is open to all companies, whatever their size, and to financial institutions. (AN)
