20/09/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 20 September, the European Parliament’s Committee on Fisheries approved the text of the interinstitutional compromise on the rules for the EU bluefin tuna catch documentation programme. The aim of this text is to implement the conservation and management measures adopted by the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) as part of its bluefin tuna catch documentation programme, the objective of which is to identify the origin of all bluefin tuna (see EUROPE 12892/14). The European Parliament plenary vote on this text will take place in November. (LC)
