31/08/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 31 August, at the end of the informal meeting of foreign affairs ministers in Toledo, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, announced that the ministers were calling on the Azerbaijani authorities to ensure “freedom and security of movement” around the Lachine corridor, the only access route between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. On her arrival, the German minister, Annalena Baerbock, announced that, together with her French counterpart, she wanted to put Nagorno-Karabakh on the agenda “where the situation for the people is catastrophic: supermarkets without food, pregnant women without urgent medicines, electricity only intermittently available”. “The people of Nagorno-Karabakh must finally receive what they need to live. The corridor must finally be free for humanitarian aid”, she warned Baku and Moscow. (CG and AN)
