On Tuesday 29 August, Ukraine’s Deputy Finance Minister Olga Zykova met Jasmina Glisovic, Head of the Grants Operations and New Instruments Division, and Diana Bertje, Country Manager of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) for Ukraine, in Kyiv.
The two parties discussed current operational cooperation between Ukraine and the CEB, with a view to identifying areas for joint projects in the Bank’s areas of expertise, namely health, housing and education.
In particular, the Ukrainian deputy minister welcomed the CEB’s commitment to co-financing a number of health projects, such as the HEAL (Health Enhancement and Lifesaving) project launched by the World Bank in Ukraine.
The two parties also discussed the launch of new projects in the near future.
They concern housing and communal services.
On 15 June, just under a year after submitting its application to join in June 2022, Ukraine became the CEB’s 43rd member state.
It has made cooperation with this war-torn country one of the objectives of its 2023-2027 strategic framework. (Original version in French by Véronique Leblanc)
