30/08/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 29 August, the European External Action Service (EEAS) announced the start of the second phase of the pilot project to set up a fully-fledged European Diplomatic Academy. This phase will take place over the course of the 2023/2024 academic year in two separate, identical, five-month editions. The first will run from September to January and the second from February to June. Practical training will also be stepped up, with a one-month training mission at EEAS headquarters in Brussels. Two groups of 25 young diplomats from EU Member States and institutions have been selected by their respective administrations to take part in each edition, the EEAS said in its press release. The programme will start on 31 August at the College of Europe in Natolin, and then continue at the College of Europe in Bruges. (CG)
