ACER publishes assessment of emergency measures for electricity in response to energy challenges

17/07/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 14 July, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) published its assessment of the emergency measures on the electricity markets adopted by the Member States in response to the energy crisis, in order to support citizens, the economy and guarantee the security of energy supply. The report, which aims to inform decision-makers, focuses on five regulatory objectives: affordability of electricity for consumers, security of supply, energy transition and investment signals, energy efficiency and demand response, and cross-border trade and market integration. The inventory comes at a time when decision-makers are considering their next steps in the face of persistent energy challenges, reassessing emergency support measures and responding to calls for a targeted and temporary fiscal policy. It will be presented and discussed on 6 September. Inventory: https://aeur.eu/f/83t (NP)
