European Commission consults on VAT and administrative cooperation

10/07/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 6 July, the European Commission launched a call for contributions on value added tax (VAT) and administrative cooperation, in anticipation of changes to the existing rules in this area. In 2020, the EU recorded a loss of €93 billion in VAT revenue due to fraud and other economic contingencies. Administrative cooperation on VAT between EU countries is one solution to this loss.
