anti-SLAPPs’ directive, MEPs want to extend scope of application and strengthen victim protection

The European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) adopted, on Tuesday 27 June, its position on the directive aimed at combating gagging procedures (‘anti-SLAPPs’) with 15 votes in favour, one against and one abstention (see EUROPE B13146A22).

In particular, MEPs want to extend the scope of the legislation and strengthen support measures for victims of ‘SLAPPs’.
