European Parliament approves conclusion of new EU/Mauritius agreement

14/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 June, the European Parliament approved the conclusion of the new fisheries agreement between the EU and Mauritius. The report by François-Xavier Bellamy (EPP, French) on this proposal was adopted with 526 votes in favour, 37 against and 52 abstentions (see EUROPE B13188A35). This agreement allows the EU fleet to fish for tuna: 5,500 tonnes for 40 purse seiners, 45 surface longliners and authorised EU auxiliary vessels(see EUROPE B13023A4)....
