13/06/23 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 13 June, the European Commission and the European heritage network Europa Nostra announced the 28 initiatives and personalities selected for the 2023 European Heritage Awards/Europa Nostra Awards. The winners are based in 21 Member States or countries associated with the Creative Europe programme and are listed in five categories (Conservation and Adaptive Reuse; Research; Education, Training and Skills; Citizens’ Engagement and Awareness-raising; and Heritage Champions). They will be given their awards during a ceremony on 28 September as part of the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2023 in Venice. On this occasion, some of them will win the “Grand Prix” or be named the “Public Choice Award winner”—each winning 10,000 euros.
