Four industry giants come together to launch Energy Storage Coalition

05/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – The joint declaration of the Energy Storage Coalition was signed on Thursday 4 May, in Brussels by four energy giants - SolarPower Europe, Ease, Wind Europe and Breakthrough Energy - to raise awareness of energy storage and advocate for financial, legal and policy frameworks. Discussions also focused on how the new electricity market design can remove barriers to deploying energy storage technologies in Europe. Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson was present at the launch and recalled the importance of flexibility and storage for transitioning energy systems to renewable energy. “(This launch) sends a strong message. For many years, energy storage has remained on the backburner in the electricity sector”. (PLD)
