European Commission approves new Spanish protected geographical indication

05/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 5 May, the European Commission announced that it had approved the registration of a new Spanish Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) in the register of quality agri-food products. This is the PGI for ‘Melocotón de Cieza’, which designates peaches grown in the municipalities of Cieza, Calasparra, Jumilla and Abarán, in southern Spain.
