Intensification of calls to speed up ratification of EU-Mercosur agreement

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez reiterated their commitment to concluding EU-Mercosur trade talks this year under the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council, when they met in Madrid on Wednesday 26 April. At that time, Brazil, for its part, will actually be presiding over Mercosur.
