EU Council approves reform of ‘ETS’ and its extension to maritime transport

25/04/23 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 25 April, the EU Council adopted the revision of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), including in the aviation sector, and its extension to maritime transport. The new rules increase the overall ambition for emission reductions by 2030 in the sectors covered by the ‘ETS’ to 62%, compared to 2005 levels.
