Walloon tax measure in favour of Renewi does not constitute aid, says EU

03/03/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission concluded on Friday 3 March that the Walloon Region’s tax measure in favour of Renewi Valorisation & Quarry (Renewi) did not constitute State aid within the meaning of EU rules. In 2015, the Commission received a complaint against State aid allegedly granted by the Walloon Region to Renewi for managing the Mont-Saint-Guibert landfill in Belgium. The complainant challenged the reduced rate of taxation on waste recovery operations....
