EU Council to adopt measures to avoid shortages of medical devices in Europe

03/03/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Member States’ deputy ambassadors to the European Union approved, on Wednesday 1 March, the transitional arrangements for medical devices. On 6 January, the European Commission had submitted a proposal for a regulation amending the one on medical devices and implantable medical devices (see EUROPE B13094A1) in order to avoid shortages of these devices in the EU during the transition to the new Regulations EU/2017/745 and EU/2017/746.
