20/02/23 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 20 February, the EU Council adopted a decision confirming that Canada’s participation in the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) project ‘Network of Logistic Hubs in Europe and Support to Operations’ (NetLogHubs) meets the general conditions set out in Decision (CFSP) 2020/1639 of November 2020 and that it will bring substantial added value to the project. As coordinator of the project, Germany will be able to formally invite Canada to join the project, in response to the request from Toronto received in May 2022. The aim of the ‘NetLogHubs’ project is to use a network of existing logistics facilities for networked multinational companies to prepare equipment for operations, to share depot space for spare parts or ammunition and to harmonise transport and deployment activities.
