23/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission presented a European cancer imaging initiative at a hybrid event on Monday 23 January. The initiative is part of the ‘Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan’ and aims to promote access, use and sharing of cancer imaging data, which is currently dispersed, for all stakeholders. With this initiative, the Commission wants to encourage innovation and deployment of digital technologies in cancer treatment and care. One of the main elements of the initiative is a European infrastructure for cancer imaging data, developed by the EUCAIM project and funded under the DIGITAL programme. The project will start with 21 clinical sites in 12 countries and aims to mobilise 30 data providers from 15 countries by the end of the project.
