23/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 January, the Council of the EU adopted without debate two legislative acts on the conclusion of an agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Seychelles concerning access of Seychelles fishing vessels to Mayotte waters. The new agreement covers a period of six years from the date of provisional application, i.e. the date of its signature by both parties (see EUROPE 13061/21). The agreement provides for fishing opportunities for Seychelles vessels - more specifically, for eight purse seiners in Union of Mayotte waters.
