09/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European External Action Service’s spokesman, Peter Stano, condemned, on Monday 9 January, the decision to award the order of Republika Srpska to Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Milorad Dodik, the Russian President is “responsible for developing and strengthening cooperation and political and friendly relations between Republika Srpska and Russia”. Mr Stano described the Bosnian decision as “deplorable” and “ill-advised”. “Putin is the one who is directly responsible for the illegal aggression of Ukraine, the one who gives the orders under which Ukrainian citizens are killed and infrastructure destroyed. Siding with Putin internationally isolates Republika Srpska and its leaders”, he warned. Mr Stano stated that there is no place in the EU for decorating a politician who orders the destruction of another country. (CG)
