21/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Research Council (ERC) announced on Tuesday 20 December that six projects that were initially put on the reserve list of grants awarded through the ‘Synergy’ call for 2022, after the announcement of the results of the call on 25 October (see EUROPE 13050/34) due to a limited budget, will now be eligible for the grant. This extension of the list of beneficiaries of the ‘Synergy’ 2022 grants has been made possible by an additional contribution of approximately €59 million from third countries associated with the Horizon Europe programme, on top of the €295 million already mobilised (see EUROPE 13050/34). A total of 35 projects, led by 125 principal investigators, will be eligible for the ‘Synergy’ 2022 grant. Established under the European framework programme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe, these grants aim to encourage innovative multidisciplinary research projects.
