European Commission adopts Romania’s Just Transition Plan

09/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 9 December, the European Commission approved the Territorial Just Transition Plans of six Romanian regions. Dolj, Galaţi, Gorj, Hunedoara, Mureş and Prahova will benefit from €2.14 billion from the Just Transition Fund (JTF). The aim is to phase out coal by 2032. More specifically, the package will support job creation and SMEs, economic diversification, renewable energy, and encourage the production of “green” steel to reduce CO2. As...
