02/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 2 December, the European Commission announced four new cross-border cooperation programmes (Interreg) involving 10 Member States, Ukraine and Moldova and totalling €530 million. The Danube Interreg programme will therefore benefit from €215 million to invest in renewable energy. The Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine programme will receive €187 million to preserve biodiversity, strengthen regional health systems and improve border management. The Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine programme, which benefits from €54 million, will aim to invest in the protection of nature, as well as education and health systems. Finally, €77 million will be devoted to biodiversity, education and health under the Interreg NEXT Romania-Moldova programme. (HS)
