28/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – According to the World Trade Organization (WTO) barometer published on Monday 28 November, merchandise trade is expected to grow more slowly in late 2022 and early 2023 than in the first half of the year. This barometer is a provisional indicator that follows the latest trends. In October, the WTO forecast goods trade growth of 3.5% (see EUROPE 13036/17), down from 4.8% in the first quarter of 2022. Delivery delays caused by disruptions in supply chains since the pandemic are likely to be a factor, according to the organisation, as well as shocks from the war in Ukraine, high energy prices and monetary tightening in major economies. Export orders, air transport and electronic components slowed down, especially in September, according to the WTO barometer. See all forecasts: https://aeur.eu/f/4c1 (LM)
