28/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Jozef Síkela, announced on the evening of Friday 25 November that the energy ministers of the EU Member States will meet again in Brussels on 13 December, to discuss the capping of gas prices. This extraordinary meeting - the fifth under the Czech Presidency of the EU Council - will aim in particular to reach a compromise on the European Commission’s proposal for a gas price cap (see EUROPE 13068/2). Prague also hopes to confirm the two informal agreements reached between ministers on 24 November on proposals for a regulation to strengthen gas solidarity and speed up permitting procedures for renewable energy projects (see EUROPE 13071/2). The two texts agreed by the ministers could not be formally approved because of divisions over the capping issue (see EUROPE 13070/1). (DG)
