Franco-German couple stresses importance of capital markets to finance economy

On Thursday 24 November, following a meeting in Paris, the German Finance Minister, Christian Lindner, and his French counterpart, Bruno Le Maire, said it was “fundamental” to strengthen the Capital Markets Union (CMU) in order to help European companies access the capital they need to grow.

“We want to ease access to capital market funding, especially for SMEs. To this end, we support a high level of ambition for the upcoming EU Listing Act”, they said in a joint statement.
