16/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commissioner for Internal Market, Thierry Breton, announced the first meeting of the “Route35” working group for the beginning of December, during a speech to the Permanent Representation of the German Land of Baden Wurtemberg on Wednesday 16 November. This working group, he explained, will have the task of monitoring the transition to clean road transport mobility. To this end, this group will monitor indicators on: - electric charging points (the aim is to establish 6.8 million such points in Europe by 2030, compared with 350 000 today); - the increase in electricity generation capacity in Europe; - the supply and need for raw materials for batteries (demand for lithium will increase 15-fold); - training and retraining of workers ; - technological developments linked to the sector’s green transition.
