European Commission launches call for contributions on energy transition of fisheries sector

08/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission has launched a call for contributions, from 7 November to 5 December 2022, on a ‘strategy for the energy transition of the EU fisheries and aquaculture sector’. The sector is highly dependent on fossil fuels, which undermines its long-term social, economic and environmental resilience and sustainability and contributes to climate change, according to the Commission.
