EU imposes fifth package of sanctions on Myanmar

The European Union adopted new sanctions against Burmese individuals and entities on Tuesday 8 November, which came into force the same day. This is the fifth package of sanctions. It targets 19 individuals and one entity. 

These include the Minister of Investment and International Economic Relations, Kan Zaw, the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Htun Htun Oo, senior army officers, etc. The National Board of Directors is also targeted.
