20/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 20 September, the European Commission presented two proposals for EU Council decisions to grant: - €550 million in additional financial support to Croatia under the SURE instrument, the support instrument for national unemployment systems, bringing total support to this country to €1.6 billion; - €142 million in additional support for Lithuania, bringing total support to €1.1 billion. The loan to Croatia will help cover the costs, mainly incurred in 2021, of continuing a partial unemployment scheme and a wage subsidy scheme, introduced in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The loan to Lithuania will also help finance the costs incurred in 2021 for the continuation of two wage subsidy schemes introduced during the pandemic. (SP)
