20/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The spokesperson for the European External Action Service condemned, on Monday 19 September, the “unacceptable” death last week of the young Iranian woman Mahsa Amini, following “injuries suffered in police custody” while she was “detained for not observing veil laws in Iran”. “It is imperative that the Iranian authorities ensure that fundamental rights of its citizens are respected and that those who are under any form of detention are not subject to any form of mistreatment”, the spokesperson added in a statement.
