01/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Audiovisual Observatory published its data for the year 2021 on Thursday 1 September. As a result, the relocation of TV channels has returned to pre-Brexit levels, after the momentum gained between 2019 and 2020 as a result of the UK's withdrawal from the EU and the transposition of the revised Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMS). Many cross-border channels based in the UK had to relocate to continue broadcasting outside the UK. The majority of them opted for Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden or the Czech Republic, while Luxembourg was the final destination for the relocation of broadcasters. (TM)
