01/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 1 September, the European Commission announced that France had been granted an additional €189.8 million as part of the REACT-EU budget increase. More than €182 million will come from the European Social Fund to help workers and jobseekers most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, in particular young people and vulnerable groups, to access and/or return to the labour market. The French programme will also provide training opportunities and support social inclusion. In French Guiana, €7.2 million in aid will help reduce school drop-out and inequalities in education and training systems and improve the resilience of social partners and other social economy actors. The eligibility deadline for expenditure under the REACT-EU initiative is the end of 2023, the Commission recalls in a press release. (MB)
